A New License and a Strategic Business Plan for Pelican Bay

08/01/2012
Pelican Bay, one of Southwest Florida's most heralded residential communities, represents the ultimate Naples lifestyle in a gorgeous setting of beaches, lakes, parks, golf courses and nature preserves.  Virtually every residential opportunity with luxury amenities can be found there, including carefree condominiums, villas, coach homes, soaring high-rise towers and impressive single-family homes.

The Pelican Bay Foundation, established to serve as the master homeowner's association for Pelican Bay, desires to provide world-class services to its residents.  Their communication needs (Internet, voice and video), as measured by bandwidth required to support their activities, have expanded rapidly in the last five years and are likely to continue to expand at an almost exponential rate.  However, the communications networks in the community are aged and cannot properly support the large files that people regularly exchange, high-definition television, or video streaming that is so common today.  After many residents voiced general dissatisfaction with the current provider, including poor picture quality and less than perfect customer service, the Foundation approved the formation of the Media Infrastructure Committee.  The Committee will explore available options with the goal of providing media services that reflect best-in-class technology at competitive prices.

As one of the first steps in the evaluation process, the Media Infrastructure Committee requested Spectrum's expertise to perform a current technological review, a competitive analysis, and develop a Strategic Business Plan.
